Hi, .. I'm Steve Ledford and I wanted to start this web site to allow my family and friends back in the USA to see how I am living here in Asia.  I want to thank Gloria Buck of VT Web Factory for helping me to get this started and showing me how to make this work.  I moved to China in 1999 and have lived here ever since.

When I first contemplated moving to China, it was a new experience for me as I had never been outside of the USA before.  My world really expanded in 1999 when I arrived here and found I was actually on the other side of the world.  I arrived in Tianjin, China, where I lived for the first two years.  That place is sure different than Icard, North Carolina, where I grew up.  Icard has a population of about 1,500 people and Tianjin has about 12 million people.  It's a little more crowded on the streets of Tianjin than it is in Icard!

During my 10 years here, I have met and married my current wife, Yu Zhen Zhu, and we now have two beautiful children.  Our daughter Angel is almost 7 years old and our son Ethan is 1 year old.  I am proud of both of them.  However, I have moved away from my former home in North Carolina and am further away from my two sons and their families than I would like to be.  

Chris, my oldest son, and his wife Candy have three sons, Bryson, Spencer and Easton.  My second son Ryan and his wife Tracy have three sons as well .. Caleb, Jacob and Lane.  Being this far away from them, I did want to do something to be able to show them how our life is going here and allow them to see some of the places I am privileged to travel to, as well as to show them the way of life in Asia to some extent.   I have a lot of photos to share with them as well as a lot of friends back in the USA that I hope can enjoy them as much as I do.

As I travel throughout Asia, I will be posting stories and pictures showing some of the places I get to travel to.  I am privileged to be able to claim friendships in many areas of the world now, including China, Indonesia, Thialand, Vietnam, Philippines, USA, Canada, Taiwan, UK, France, Denmark and other areas.  I hope to expand those friendships in the coming years.
